KwaZulu-Natal scenes in black & white
Towards the end of May I spent a week in KwaZulu-Natal for work. All in all, since I was sick and we were really busy in took some spectacularly average photos that I stuck in a folder on my desktop and left for a month. Yesterday, on the flight to Nairobi, I had four hours to kill – the perfect opportunity to go through them and see if anything could be salvaged. This is the result – one of these, the very empty landscape, was actually taken from a moving car. I really love editing in black and white – it is pretty amazing how it can transform a very bland photo taken in poor light, because it is the shape and composition which takes precedence of color and light quality.
